Little Miss HISTORY Travels to SEQUOIA National Park
Barbara Ann Mojica proudly introduces her third book of the Little Miss HISTORY series titled Little Miss HISTORY Travels to SEQUOIA National Park. Since her last expedition to the Statue of Liberty, Little Miss HISTORY has meandered across the North American continent to the western coast and the Sierra Nevada mountain range to the recesses of Sequoia National Park where she will skydive into the forest. Here in the “land of the living giants,” the reader will become a detective to learn about the differences between redwood and sequoia trees. Explorers will discover its first inhabitants and three hundred species of wildlife. Through breathtaking illustrations, adventurers will traverse its trails and immerse themselves in the awesome beauty and magnificence of Sequoia National Park’s natural wonders. Readers may find out there are hidden dangers lurking there.
If you have not already read them, don’t miss Little Miss HISTORY’S first two adventures. In her first trek to MOUNT RUSHMORE, she reveals the herculean effort it took to build the monument of four presidents carved into the rock, the people who accomplished the task, the hardship caused to Native Americans, and the efforts being undertaken to right those wrongs. Learn about the secrets that are hidden behind the rock.
Little Miss HISTORY’S excursion to the STATUE of LIBERTY enlightens the reader about the history of the planners, architects and engineers who built her, the values and hopes she symbolizes, and the little known individuals who contributed their pennies to make the appearance of this beacon of hope in New York Harbor a reality. Parents and teachers should note that this book is a perfect tool for fourth grade students in our New York schools who study New York State history.
Barbara Ann Mojica is a historian with a Master’s Degree and former educator and school principal. Using the whimsical character Little Miss HISTORY as your guide, her aim is to make learning about people and places of historical importance fun and educational. Picture book format allows the well-researched book to come alive, even for children who are not yet reading. If you check out the reviews on Amazon.com or Barnes and Noble.com, you will discover adults might learn something new as well!
All three books in the Little Miss HISTORY series are available online at book retailer websites like Create Space, Amazon and Barnes and Noble or at your local book store. You can visit her website at http://www.LittleMissHISTORY.com for book information and purchase links, Little Miss HISTORY merchandise, and a link to her blog which reviews family friendly books written by other authors. Little Miss HISTORY looks forward to visiting your home or classroom soon! We also hope to meet many of you in person at the Hudson Children’s Book Festival, the largest children’s book festival in New York, on Saturday, May 3, 2014. http://hudsonchildrensbookfestival.com/
